Privacy Policy

What we collect

Only what’s needed to run a measurement and stay in touch — as little as possible:

• Acoustic measurement data: the room response computed during a measurement (impulse response, frequency curves and similar derived data).
• Device info: iPhone model, iOS version and microphone type — used for calibration and troubleshooting.
• Email address: only if you leave your email or write to us.
• Anonymous diagnostics: crash logs and non-identifying usage stats, which you can turn off in settings.
• AI assistant data (only if you opt in): when you use the AI acoustics assistant, your conversation and summaries of the measurements needed to answer are sent to Anthropic for processing. Nothing is sent if you don't use it.

Your microphone and recordings

During a measurement the app plays a sweep tone and records it with the microphone. That raw recording is processed entirely on your device to compute your room’s acoustic response.

The raw audio is never uploaded, never leaves your phone, and is discarded once the math is done. We can’t access — and don’t want — the ambient sound or conversations in your room.

How we use it

• To produce your measurement report and adjustment suggestions.
• To improve the measurement algorithms and recommendations, using aggregated, anonymous data.
• To send product updates and reply to your messages.

What we don’t do

• We don’t sell or rent any of your data.
• We don’t embed third-party ad SDKs or track you across apps.
• We don’t repurpose your data without telling you first.

Third-party services

We lean on as few third parties as we can. The always-on ones are an email provider for our mail and an anonymous crash-reporting service — each only sees the minimum it needs to do its job.

If you choose to use the AI acoustics assistant, one more third party is involved: Anthropic. The assistant sends your conversation and summaries of the measurements needed to answer to Anthropic's models. It uses your own Anthropic API key — the key stays in your device's Keychain, usage is billed to your own Anthropic account, and we never touch it. That data is also covered by Anthropic's privacy policy. If you don't use the assistant, none of these requests happen.

Website analytics

This site (acouvero.com) uses no third-party analytics at all. It runs GoatCounter, an open-source tool, on our own server — the data stays on our machine and never passes through anyone else’s hands.

It sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser’s local storage or cache.

What gets recorded is only aggregated counts: which page, on which day or in which hour, how many times — plus the referring page, broad browser and system categories, the screen width and the source country (for a few countries, down to region level). IP addresses are not written to the database and are not kept: an IP is held in server memory only briefly, to determine the source location and to tell whether two hits belong to the same visit, and is then discarded.

The only purpose is to understand which content is useful to readers. Because no personal data is involved, this site needs no cookie consent banner.

How long we keep it

Measurement data lives on your device by default and is gone when you delete the app. Anything you sync or send us is kept until you ask us to delete it; email is cleared within 30 days of unsubscribing.

Your rights

You can ask to see, export or delete the data we hold about you at any time, and withdraw any consent. Write to hi@acouvero.com and we’ll handle it within 30 days.

Children

Acouvero isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date at the top and let you know in the app or by email.
